COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A report says a dead body was found inside a small fishing boat recovered in the Kalamazoo River in Comstock Township Tuesday afternoon.
News Channel 3 reports Comstock Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched to the Kalamazoo River for a medical response call just downstream from the Morrow Dam.
Comstock Fire and Rescue Chief Matt Beauchamp said he believed the deceased was the only occupant on board the small watercraft.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office and county coroner are investigating and the circumstances surrounding the death are unclear.
