Saturday April 10th is SuperSibs day...SuperSibs is a nonprofit organization that does things for the siblings of cancer patients. Its the small things like getting a card in the mail or a little token saying that they are special that means a lot to them. It's not unusual to see them get pushed to the back burner.
One of our listeners Caitlyn, is battling cancer, and she has a couple of SUPER SIBS.
Mekenna is one of those super siblings....I'll see you at the Miranda Lambert show on Saturday.
Celebrity Chef Jamie Oliver, ‘food evangelist,’ turned Huntington, West VA upside down on his new reality show 'Food Revolution'. His monumental goal is to get this country’s unhealthiest region healthy again by changing the way the residents eat.
A local radio personality took Jamie to task during an interview for imposing his views upon the 5-county wide metro area. But, instead, it was nearly ‘on a dime’ that the radio host had a change of heart when Jamie took him to a local mortuary, where orders for ‘double wide’ caskets are increasingly in demand (you could fit 3 regular sized bodies in these things!)
Here’s the rub…. Michigan fat figures are less than 3 percentage points behind West Virginia. We’re pretty bad off too. Kalamazoo’s s fat figures are in the middle with Detroit and Marquette -for example-on the high side and Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti and Midland on the low side.
Don’t forget, you don’t have to be fat to be unhealthy. As a matter of fact Americans still manage to live longer with our high-tech health system. Kate Wunderlin at Natural Health Center on West Main in Kalamazoo agrees that our food is not killing us as much as it’s making us sick , and she adds, that it comes down to quality not simply quantity of life.
Anybody going to Tiger St--, I mean, Comerica Park next month on April 9th? We're ready for baseball!! Temp's have been bearable. I can actual walk around the neighborhood and not freeze my falanges off. (fingers and toes...sp.??)
I can't wait for the flowers to be in bloom. I took this photo a couple of springtimes ago. Take time today to smell the flowers....in other words, stay positive!!
Coach is a super cute 4-year-old Lab mix. He weighs in at 76 pounds so he'll be great for someone who's looking for a larger furry friend. Coach has a gorgeous blond coat, big glowing eyes, and always seems to have a smile on his sweet face!
Coach is a very friendly and people-oriented dog who has tons of personality - he'll likely keep you entertained for years to come. He's also a very high energy dog who will require lots of attention/playtime/exercise. In fact, he'd just love to find a person/family who will be home a lot, or who will include him in many activities. He's also an adventurous fellow who likes to escape fences. Won't you consider adopting Coach.
Coach is an all around great dog. He's looking for someone who will understand his 'quirks' and give him the love and affection he SO deserves.
****His adoption fee is $275; includes neuter surgery and all other medical care.****
