  • Toby Keith

Wow, the Toby Keith show was truly amazing in Muskegon on Sunday night.  This is my 4th Toby concert and I must say, it was the best show I've ever seen from this guy.  During "A Little Less Talk", he did a nice Michigan tribute to Uncle Ted Nugent mixing in "Stranglehold"...then he gave us a real treat.  He welcomed special guest David Allan Coe on stage!  They did 4 songs together including a Toby impression of John Conlee.  I swear if you closed your eyes, you would NEVER know it was Toby.  It was that good.  Some are saying that he let David sing 3 songs too many.  My response, is "Are you kidding me?"  I mean I know it's old school, but it was really 4 bonus songs with a living legend on stage.  Toby even said, "I normally go off stage at this time and get ready for the finale, but I have a real treat for you with David Allan Coe."  And for those that left because the show turned "old school", they should have realized Toby NEVER ends a show without "American Soldier" and Courtesy"  It was an awesome show!  My only complaint is that Toby never sings his duet with Jimmy Buffett, Piece Of Work.  I have to get my Parrot Head comment in there of course!

Parrotheads united in Detroit at DTE on Tuesday night for Jimmy Buffett.  This is my 4th show in a row catching what Jimmy calls his "summer job"  It was great fun as always hanging out with fellow tailgaters and parrotheads.  One of the big highlights was Bret Michaels joining Jimmy on stage for Margaritaville featuring the lost verse!  Can't wait until next year!  Check out the youtube video on our WIN 98-5 Facebook page!  View the setlist.

  • Flag Day!

Today is Flag Day, which commemorates the adoption of the stars-and-stripes flag of the United States, which happened on June 14th, 1777. It's a great time to unfurl that flag and display it proudly. Do you own an American flag? When and where do you usually display it? What does the flag mean to you?

  • The Weekend

    Posted by O'Reilly

Hi, I sure hope you had a wonderful Memorial Weekend.  Aside from a few rain showers on Monday, I would say were were pretty lucky with the weather.  I had a great time with my friends at the Capri Drive In in Coldwater and spent some time singing in Quincy.  If you know me well, you also know how much I love karaoke.  Join us for WINOAKE at the Pioneer Bar in Union City on the 26th.  We will be getting more qualifiers for a chance at $750 and the opportunity to sing just before Justin Moore takes the stage in at the Country Music Round Up, July 4th weekend.  Also, let me know where and when you like to sing karaoke.  I would love to join you!  Tell me your favorite karaoke spot at phil.oreilly@mwcradio.com
