The bracket for the 2014 Wooden Legacy - to be played Thursday, Friday and Sunday, Nov. 27, 28 & 30 in Orange County, Calif. - has been set for the eight competing teams, with the Western Michigan men's basketball team playing a non-bracketed game against San Diego earlier in the week and opening bracketed play against Long Beach State on Thursday.
The Broncos will open the slate at the Wooden Legacy on Monday, Nov. 24 when they take on San Diego in a non-bracketed game, with tip-off scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. It will be the first-ever meeting between WMU and the Toreros, who went 18-17 in 2013-14 and finished 7-11 in the West Coast Conference, and will provide the Broncos an early taste of the West Coast before moving on to the bracketed tournament.
WMU's first game in the official bracket of the Wooden Legacy will come on Thanksgiving day, when they take on Long Beach State on Nov. 27. The Broncos and 49ers will face off at Cal State-Fullerton's Titan Gym at 8:30 p.m. ET in a game that will be televised nationally on on ESPNU. The winner of the game will proceed to play either San Jose State or Washington on Friday, Nov. 28 at 11:30 p.m. on ESPN2, while the loser will play the other remaining team at 9 p.m. on ESPN3. The championship game will be played on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 10 p.m. at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. and will be televised on ESPN2.
