by Colin Windecker

Buffalo, NY (WKZO) – Backed by 20 points from Javon McCrea the Buffalo Bulls rolled over the Western Michigan Broncos 84-63 on Wednesday night.

The Bulls had five players finish in double figures and led nearly the entire game.  While Buffalo only shot slightly better than the Broncos, they were able to take advantage on the offensive glass, bringing in eight more offensive boards, resulting in 13 second chance points.

After being named MAC West Player of the Week, Shayne Whittington had a team high 13 points and hauled in five rebounds for the Broncos. David Brown and Tucker Haymond each scored 11, extending each of their streaks of consecutive games of scoring in double figures. Brown is now at 24 straight, while Haymond is at two. Haymond also grabbed six boards.

WMU (11-8, 4-3 MAC) trailed 39-25 at halftime and could never close the second half deficit to single digits.

The Broncos now trail Toledo by two games for the MAC West lead. Central Michigan will be the Broncos next opponent as the two in-state rivals battle for the first time this season. CMU (7-12, 0-7) remains the only winless team in the MAC. Tip-off is set for 2pm at University Arena.
