Kalamazoo, MI (WKZO) –Taylor Braun had 23 points and six rebounds for North Dakota State, as the Bison came into University Arena and defeated the Broncos 83-74 on Wednesday night.
NDSU (2-2) shot 58.5% from the floor including 68% (15-22) in the first half, while building a nine point halftime lead at 40-31.
David Brown scored a career high 27 points for WMU (3-2) despite making only one of nine attempts from downtown and as a team the Broncos connected on just 4 of 23 from behind the arc. Connar Tava and Shayne Whittington also finished in double-figures for the Broncos, each recording 16 points. The 16 for Tava tied a career high.
WMU trailed by double figures for most of the second half but cut the lead to six with 1:31 left after Brown made three of four free throws after Braun picked up a foul and was hit with a technical for arguing the call.
Whittington had a game high nine rebounds in 35 minutes for WMU.
