Tis The Season For Bogs

My BOGS have served me well during the past month.

Yesterday was the only day my feet felt a little chilly.

Records have been set for cold and snow fall since the official start of winter.

It's dangerously frigid day today, but Monday & Tuesday of next week will be brutal, as daytime temps will be in the single digits.

The National Weather Service has this bulletin for those in the following cities:

CHARLOTTE...LANSING...BATTLE CREEK...JACKSON
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST
SATURDAY...
HAZARDOUS WEATHER...
 * WIND CHILLS WILL DROP DOWN AS LOW AS AROUND 20 BELOW THIS MORNING.
 * WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS MORNING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THIS
   AFTERNOON BEFORE DIMINISHING SOME. GUSTS OVER 40 MPH ARE
   EXPECTED TODAY.
 * SNOW WILL DEVELOP NORTH OF IONIA TO ST. JOHNS THIS
   MORNING...AND THEN SPREAD SOUTH THIS AFTERNOON. STORM TOTAL
   ACCUMULATIONS THROUGH TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM AROUND 2 INCHES
   ALONG U.S.-127 TO AROUND 4 INCHES FURTHER WEST.
 * BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS MORNING AND
   CONTINUE THROUGH THIS EVENING.
IMPACTS...
 * TIME TO FROSTBITE FROM EXPOSURE THIS MORNING WILL BECOME LESS
   THAN 30 MINUTES.
 * TRAVEL WILL BECOME DANGEROUS AT TIMES THROUGH THE DAY TODAY.
   WHITE OUT CONDITIONS WITH LITTLE TO NO VISIBILITY ARE EXPECTED
   AT TIMES.
 * BLOWING SNOW WILL COVER TREATED ROADS...ESPECIALLY NORTH TO
   SOUTH ROADS IN OPEN AREAS.
 * ROADS WILL REMAIN SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY ACROSS THE AREA
   THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT AND BEYOND.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
 * THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REMINDS MOTORISTS
   TO ADJUST SPEEDS BASED ON THE CONDITIONS... AND TO TAKE IT
   SLOW IN ICE AND SNOW.
