It made sense that Michigan's 'Golden' couple be picked as Grand Marshall's for the race at MIS yesterday. Right?
Olympic gold medalist figure skaters, Meryl Davis and Charlie White, served as the Grand Marshalls for the Pure Michigan 400. Aside from taking home Americas first ever gold medal in ice dancing at this year's Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, both were born and raised in Michigan and currently attend the University of Michigan.
They may be close to perfect on ice, but as they fulfilled their duties yesterday at the track, race fans were not impressed. It was their lack of enthusiasm announcing the most famous words in motor sports that prompted the crowd to boo.
This wasn't the first time that a Grand Marshall got a rousing round of jeers.
