Officially halfway!

by Nikki Montgomery

Today I'm officially halfway through my pregnancy! 20 weeks YAY!! So far so good. My headaches that plagued me once I hit the 2nd trimester have gotten better, my energy level has increased and I'm all around feeling better.

Our ultrasound is scheduled for Monday and we will find out the sex of the baby! My logic tells me it's going to be a girl because there's no way my brother and his wife, my sister and her husband, my husband's brother and his wife, and Josh and I could all have one of each. However, I just have a feeling it's a boy. The Chinese birth chart says boy and the heartbeat is slower than Mia's was (in the 140s) and boys typically have slower heartbeats. That doesn't always hold true though my sister had a slower heartbeat when my mom was pregnant and they kept telling her my sister was going to be a boy. Of course they didn't do ultrasounds back then unless they thought something might be wrong with the baby. I'm kind of glad ultrasounds have become routine I love being able to find out what we're having and plan.

We have an appointment with the doctor on Tuesday to go over the results of the ultrasound and at that point we'll have a more accurate due date. We decided to go the safer, doctor recommended, route and have this baby by c-section again. Once we have the adjusted due date we'll be able to schedule the surgery about a week before.

Next week is going to be very exciting!
