How to practice shooting winter sporting events....

Love being an event photographer! When Winter rolls around that means the chance to do photography at World Class Snowmobile Races, Ice Skating, Hockey, Downhill Skiing and much more. So the thing these events all have in common is "speed." To stay in practice..photograhers need to shoot daily. Get that camera in your hand and find things to take pictures of so you're working on panning, quick clicks, composition. One huge suggestion...shoot pictures of birds. I take pictures of them daily for practice. It helps you be "quick on the trigger" and get used to playing with your camera settings quickly. THEN..when it's time to shoot photos at the actual hockey game, the snowmobile race..You. Are. Ready. Plus..remember batteries
