Powers Out Now What

by PJ Lacey

Schools out, powers out, now what?  Have the neighbors ante up and deal or roll 10 thousand-

I lost $3. to my brother-in law already.  Before you charge up the dvd player, click on the new power outage map !  Load up the family for a walk through downtown Battle Creek for the International Festival of Lights, check out the new light feature on the river along State Street and the most popular 12 days of Christmas.

Take your guests to Binder Park Zoo for free carousel and train rides. Bring your own skates to take a spin on their ice rink. The fun continues with Santa warming up by the fireplace at 6 tonight (12/23) and the 26th through the 30th.

Your out of town company will enjoy the powder at  Leila Arboretum or  tote your skates to Millennium Park , 280 Romence Rd., Portage. When you're ready to warm up, there's the latest Hobbit movie, Frozen, or the stylings of Ron Burgundy-

With more snow  following the ice storm this weekend, let's keep checking in on the neighbors, and spreading the word about local warming centers:  The Battle Creek Red Cross on Beadle Lake Road, and in Delton at the Barry Township Hall.   A safe and Merry Christmas to you and the family!
