Shhhhhh....it's Honey Boo Boo...Again

A record 2.8 M tuned in to view TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo".  The reality show has averaged 2.4 M viewers since it premiered on 8/8.

With it's many fans, it also has received some sharp criticism.  I've compiled some online comments from various threads that you can read below.  Form your own opinion...mine has been the same since I first laid my eyes on the show....I LOVE IT!!

~A tv show glorifying a fat, ugly and ignorant white trash family. This country is becoming a parody of itself. Pathetic.

~Please remember this is a little girl that you are all speaking of. If you have ever had to go without or been made fun of, it doesn't feel good. The opportunity that she has been given is life changing for that entire family. Nobody would watch or syndicate a show it if they didn't have those unique quirks about them. As most of us go to our jobs everyday and do what is expected to provide for our families, they are doing the same thing. Stop being so critical and show some empathy... TV took a funny little girl from the south and made her an opportunity! Good for her...

~My 6 year old son thinks Alana is the best. He would love to be her friend because he thinks she is crazy and would be fun to play with. When they show Alana compete at the pagents, my son roots for her and hopes she wins. When Alana dresses up for the pagents my son thinks she looks cute...and so do I. My son sees a funny little girl that is real and herself. He sees someone that would be a blast to be friends with. Yes, the family is "one of a kind", and they make no bones about it. They don't pretend to be something they are not and if you don't like them they are ok with it. That's confidence. BTW, I am a college graduate and my son attends private school, but it doesn't matter. What matters is that you have a good heart and that is what this family has.

~Who in their right mind would watch any of these reality shows? So many people out there without a life. Get off your lazy behinds and do something productive. Go help a little exploited fat kid have a better life. What in the world has happened to this country? Always ready to live someone else's life instead of your own.

~I have watched this show a few times and actually laugh out loud regularly. It's entertaining and that family is close and loving. Who cares if they lack some manners – you don't have to live with them. And as for your judgment of people who watch this show, get off your high horse! You're so great that you feel you can insult everyone? I am highly educated, a mom of 4 very busy, active kids. My husband and I spend our days at work (we bring home close to 200k which suggests at least SOME intelligence) and our evenings chauffeuring the kids to their hockey games and practices, to the track for cross country running, and oh, we also try to squeeze in family time and time to hit the gym. And if I want to take one hour to myself at night to relax and think of nothing, I am allowed to do so without worrying about what morons like you will think. Get a life.

June, Honey Boo Boo's 'Mama' is playing bingo and squinting to see the numbers.  She probably could use some glasses for distance.

Mike, Honey Boo Boo's Daddy, aka, 'Sugar Bear' is having fun trying on some wigs.
