The “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” to benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters is coming up on March 1st at M-66 Bowl in Battle Creek. Each bowler is asked to collect pledges and there are door prize available for participants. Proceeds stay local and benefit the Big Brothers/Big Sisters programming. The Community Action Agency sponsors the “Walk for Warmth” each year in Barry, Branch, Calhoun and St. Joseph counties. This year’s walk is on Saturday, February 23rd at various locations. In Battle Creek, it‘s at First United Methodist Church downtown with registration at 9 a.. and the walk at 10. The Walk for Warmth raises funds to help those with low-income, the elderly and disabled residents keep their heat on through the winter.
