Crow is the first ambassador of the St. Jude Music Gives program, and she ran the Nashville half-marathon in support of the New Hope Academy, finishing the 13.1-mile race in 1 hour, 59 minutes and 14 seconds.

Two first time marathoners won the 13th running of Nashville’s 26.2 mile block party. Berry College sophomore Ryan James of Belfast, Maine won the race in 2 hours, 32 minutes and 50 seconds. At 19-years-old he became the youngest marathon champion in the history of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.

Danny Thomas Founder Of St. Jude Posted February 2, 2012 by Kim Brixton

Thousands of country radio professionals gathered last month in Memphis for The St. Jude Country Cares Seminar.  We toured the hospital and took home valuable information to help us and our efforts to raise funds for the vital work that St. Jude continues to provide for those in need.  In the picture below you'll see me!!!  WIN 98-5's Kim Brixton, from the 'Kim & O'Reilly' show.  It's my unique way of showing appreciation for Mr. Danny Thomas.

Many years ago, Alabama's Randy Owen rallied the world of country music to get involved with St. Jude's fundraising and aware raising efforts.  Consequently it's fitting that he has an award named in his honor.  This year The Randy Owen Angels Among Us Award was given to John Rich for his significant contribution to the hospital.  Mr. Rich was the winner on the NBC Celebrity Apprentice Show.  During the program he raised 1.4 million dollars. That amount was then given to St. Jude.

WIN 98-5's Kim Brixton was in Memphis when the award was presented.

American Idol Posted January 12, 2012 by Kim Brixton

In November,  American Idol Season 10 finalist Lauren Alaina made her first visit to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This rising star was in Memphis to perform at the Graceland Annual Lighting Ceremony. Before the evening show, her wish was to spend the day at St. Jude.

Lauren toured the hospital and stopped along the way to visit with patients and their families. Her time spent with the patients inspired this artist to join the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids family of supporters. Just a couple of weeks after her visit to the hospital, Lauren performed a benefit concert for St. Jude.
