KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A cooking fire may have been the cause of a blaze at a home near downtown Kalamazoo.
Crews were dispatched to the 400 block of Oak Street near West Lovell Street around 6:30 p.m. Monday and found smoke coming from the doorway of the home.
Kalamazoo Public Safety firefighters quickly extinguished the flames contained near the kitchen on the first floor. Two adults and several children had already evacuated after the fire started.
The family was provided information for the Red Cross to assist with any needs. Nobody was injured during the incident.
