WNWN.com's Student of the Month
He's a great student, son and grandson. He is always willing to help his teacher, mom and grandpa when every he can. He gets stars and smiley faces everyday for his home work and is a huge country fan.

I am nominating my neice Jessica for student of the month. She holds a 3.9 GPA and is taking several advanced classes. She is captain of the bowling team, president of the Gay Straight Alliance, and a member of St. Joseph church. She is a passionate advocate for the underserved and under represented of our community.

Angel is a very helping and caring student. Everyday she always gives a 110 percent. She is on the honor roll. She Loves to read everyday and also loves Science. She is a student that i think needs a little reward sometimes. :)
Nathan is a freshman at Lakeview High School. To say he struggled with his grades in middle school would be an understatement! He never did his homework and his grades showed! He always told me, "Mom, I know how much high school matters and I promise I will buckle down in high school." Well, he certainly did! He has 3 A+

(Nominated by Valerie Abercrombie--Grandma)
Alexis is my granddaughter and I am extremely proud of her. She is an A-student. She has had art work displayed at the art center. Alexis loves to draw and her goal is to be a designer. Everything sounds perfect except for her health. She has ashtma, acid reflux, and often has chest pains. She is on quite a few meds. She goes for tests with specialists and the have not yet dtermined the whole problem.
She's beautiful, has her head on straight and defintely deserves to be recognized as student of the month. She loves soccer and makes the shopper news with goals scored.
I love her dearly---Grandma Val
(Alexis goes to Pennfield Middle School and is 11 yrs old.)

Elly is a student at Purdy Elementary. She is challenged a little for what God has given her. She was born with enlarged ventricals in her brain, but she can read and do math like normal. When it comes to physical education and art they are challenging. She tries so hard to be like the rest of the kids, but fails. Her pictures do not go with stories. Although her stories are great, she doesn’t have the ability to draw like all the others. She gets so upset by that. She is truly a wonderful student and she deserves to be noticed as one. She is a great student and works really hard to be one...Sincerely, a very proud Meme(grandmother)!!!!

I am nominating my daughter, Taylor, as WIN Country's student of the month because she is one of the hardest working kids I know. She is in 9th grade this year at Quincy High School. She puts a lot of effort into her school work. She plays trombone in the high school band. She is participating on the cross country team while dealing with shin splints. She works hard to get all her homework done while having practices for both cross country and marching band. On top of all that, she helps keep our small farm going by taking care of her animals and our chickens every day. From March until August, she cares for sheep and pigs for the county fair. She is a very busy girl, and I am so proud of her for all she does. But the thing that makes me the most proud is that she is caring, kind, and God-fearing. I love her with all my heart. That is why I believe she would be a great choice for student of the month.

Taylor is a great kid who loves school and school activities. She cheers for Harper Creek Middle School, she is also a year round competitive cheerleader for Portage Young Champions for the past 7 years. She is dedicated and has only missed one practice due to a school field trip. She participates in the Step out walk for diabetes, and most area breast cancer awareness walks and fundraisers. She has received many awards for honor roll, and has goals of going to college after High School. Taylor is a 7th grader at Harper Creek Middle School.

Emily has come along way to be where she is today, She has been on the honor roll for the past five years and Student of the month as a Freshman at Lakeview High School. She puts school work before fun time. I think Emily would be a great student to nominated for student of the month.

Cassandra is beginning her junior year at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. She is a Community Leadership major. Cassandra spent her summer as an unpaid intern at the Haley House soup kitchen in Boston, MA. When she accepted the internship I asked her why she wanted to work there instead of finding a paying summer job. Her reply was simply "Dad, I have to go where there is a need." I couldn't argue with that. Please consider my daughter Cassandra Cohen as your Student Of The Month.
