Spend the evening walking through the newly designed sidewalks, enjoy the festive atmosphere and patronize the downtown businesses as the community is invited to celebrate the near completion of the downtown construction with the 2012 Fall Into the Arts art walk scheduled for Friday, October 19, 2012 from 5 to 9 PM in downtown Battle Creek.
Over thirty venues will feature canvas and paper, film and computer, wire and thread, clay and rock, instrument and voice from 54 individual artists, 8 artist groups and 11 musical performance venues. In addition, The Mylestone Project will take the art walk up a notch with programming to surprise, enhance and excite attendees. In addition to roaming mimes, balloon artists, magicians and percussionists, the following programming is also scheduled

The Battle Creek Fire Guild
The Battle Creek Fire Guild will entertain with fire arts including fire hooping and poi at Mill Race Park. In addition to scheduled performances, practice equipment will be available for spectators to try.
DJ Shorty Brick
DJ Shorty Brick, Chicago’s #1 break dancer will host hip hop dance classes as StarrStruq Studio and the Break It Down Dance Crew will bring dance crews together to battle for prizes.
Outloud Initiative Percussion Battle
The Outloud Initiative Percussion Battle will raise money for charities while they battle for the best beat.
Nick Jakubiak and Steve Vaught
Nick Jakubiak and Steve Vaught, 2012 ArtPrize participants will show their other work at the Rogue Artist Gallery along with twelve other local artists and local band, The Class Acts.
Bakery Creations
Your taste buds will not be denied the experience either as bakery creations will be for the tasting from bumbleberries at the Battle Creek Downtown Partnership and Sweet Kreations for You at LynnIvan Salon.
Battle Creek Arts & Culture Group
The Battle Creek Arts & Culture Group will demonstrate what Life without Art would look like at 8 West Michigan.
Hop a Ride on the Trolley
Hop a ride on the trolley as you explore the entire art walk route! Trolley stops are sprinkled throughout the art walk providing you a quick ride from Michigan Avenue to outlining locations including Art Center of Battle Creek, St. Thomas Episcopal Church, ETC ARTS Studio and Commerce Pointe Gallery. (Schedule below.) Trolley stops can be found by locating the teal Trolley Stop signs.
Horse and Carriage Ride
For $2/person or $5/family, you can catch a ride through downtown with the wind in your hair as you ride through downtown via horse and carriage. Pick up and drop off at W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
Create a GREAT Pumpkin
Create a GREAT pumpkin masterpiece at home after you pick up a pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch at St. Thomas Episcopal Church also the sight for artists Mike & Susan Keith and musical performances from Ars Voce,Battle Creek Girls Chorus, Battle Creek Junior Theatre and Sojourner Truth Choir.
Live Demonstrations
Live demonstrations and scheduled musical performances will be a highlight of the art walk when you stop by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
Great Performances
The Calhoun County Arts Council, Calhoun County Visitors Bureau, Generations Financial Planning & Wealth Management and Commerce Pointe Gallery will each have artists on display within Commerce Pointe. In addition to artists, Jeremy Parker and the Community Music School faculty and students will perform.
ETC ARTS Studio
ETC ARTS Studio will highlight the work of over thirty artists, live music from the band Prankster and artist demonstrations in silk painting, loom weaving and the visual arts.
Art Work Created by Animals
Art work created by animals from Binder Park Zoo shall be a location you do not want to miss! Stop by Rice’s Shoes & the BC Flower Shop to see a hedgehog and a snake along with their creations.
Entertainment From Street Buskers
The streets will be alive with entertainment from street buskers located along Michigan Avenue. Each musician will offer a unique style of music to enhance your experience. Performers include Andy Helmboldt, Carlos Washington, Ray Hayes & Friends and Ronnie Hawkins.
