WEESAW TOWNSHIP -- An 86 year-old woman was killed this week when she crashed her car into a tree in Berrien County. On Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of the crash at Cleveland Avenue, north of Glendora Road in Weesaw Township, and found the victim already deceased. She's since been identified as Genevieve Schuh, of Buchanan.
Investigators have determined that she was southbound on Cleveland and lost control of her 2001 Toyota on an icy spot. Her car hit the tree with the driver's side door, and an autopsy found that Schuh died as a result of head injuries. A witness at the scene reported that she did not appear to be speeding at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
