JACKSON (WKZO) -- Funeral Services have been set for a young Jackson Police officer, shot in the line of duty on Monday. Twenty-six-year-old officer Jim Bonneau died and his partner, Darrin McIntosh, is recovering from a bullet wound, after what started as a routine domestic dispute that turned into a terrifying short and brutal gun battle inside a Blackman Township home late Monday night.

The two went looking for 63 year old Elvin Potts after he got drunk and beat on the door of his ex-girlfriend, and returned home. They entered the place and in the rapid fire that followed, Potts was killed, Bonneau was mortally wounded and McIntosh was bleeding from a leg wound.

McIntosh was critically wounded but has improved and will recover. Visitation for Bonneau will be held from 1 to 9 Thursday at Griffin Funeral Home in Canton. The Funeral will be held in Plymouth on Friday at 10AM.
