COLDWATER (WTVB) -- A mini-van/pedestrian accident Tuesday afternoon in Orland, Indiana has left a Branch County man in critical condition. Police say 80-year old Dale Hoard of Bronson hit the side of the van while walking across State Road 120 in downtown Orland around 2 p.m. yesterday.
Authorities say the driver of the mini-van, a 58-year old woman from Shipshewana, was behind a semi-truck and trailer and told officers she didn’t see Hoard until he struck her vehicle. Authorities said Hoard was not crossing the street at a crosswalk. He suffered head and abdominal injuries and was flown to Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne after first being taken to Cameron hospital in Angola.
