KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Marijuana Policy Project is calling for a nationwide boycott of Wal-Mart because of the firing of Joe Casias of Battle Creek. Casias is a registered Medicinal Marijuana patient in Michigan, prescribed by his doctor because he has an inoperable brain tumor and is recovering from sinus cancer.
Two years ago he was Wal-Mart’s Associate of the Year. Right now he is out on the street and they are trying to strip him of his unemployment insurance because he tested positive for grass. MPP Spokesman Mike Meno says it’s a violation of the Michigan law as written. Wal-Mart is calling it policy. The MPP is calling it despicable.
