STURGIS (WKZO) -- A 17-year-old from Sturgis is dead after he lost control of his bicycle and fell right into traffic on U.S. 12 near White School Road yesterday afternoon. He was struck by an 88-year-old driver who could not avoid the collision. Dead is Joshua Hughes who was described by friends as really intelligent. The St. Joseph Co. Sheriff’s Department is investigating, but for now say it just appears to be a tragic accident.
