Finance reports released on the primary election in Michigan show that Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder spent more than twice as much as his opponents to win the Republican nomination. Snyder spent seven-point-six-million-dollars, which included a five-point-nine-million-dollar loan from himself to the campaign. Democratic nominee Virg Bernero brought in one-point-one-million-dollars, with all but 100-thousand of it coming from donations. House Speaker Andy Dillon spent about one-point-seven-million-dollars on the head-to-head race with the Lansing mayor. Spending by all candidates topped 18-million-dollars.
