KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Congress doesn’t reconvene until next week and Congressman Fred Upton was in Kalamazoo this week touring a company that will be making parts for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, when it goes into production.

He says that his visit to Parker Hannifin's Prognostic Health Management Technology Development Project gave him some insight into innovation happening within Michigan companies, and how they can compete on the global scale. The project that Upton saw is intended to develop ways of accurately predicting the life spans of aerospace pumps. He says no other company has such technology. On Wednesday, Upton will be in Berrien County, visiting Lakeland Healthcare and Bridges to Digital Excellence.
