PAW PAW (WKZO) - They were just three friends out for a good time. Now one is dead, another crippled and the third could be going to jail. The test results are back from the lab and now a Paw Paw man is being charged with drunk driving causing the death of one man and injuries to another. Twenty-two-year-old James Brady Anderson could get up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
County Deputies say all three were in a pick-up heading down West H Avenue in Oshtemo Township on early January 11th. The truck left the road and hit a tree. 21 year old Curtis Michener was ejected thru the windshield and pronounced dead at the scene. Twenty-one year old Eric Deryke of Mattawan continues his recovery from potentially life threatening injuries. Anderson was not as seriously injured. No trial date has been set.
