FOX LAKE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Former Fox Lake Police Chief Patrick Lynch returns to court February 1st on charges that he molested a seven-year-old girl in 1989 and stalked people.
The state Justice Department announced the new court date Monday. A judge will decide if there’s enough evidence to order a trial on felony charges of first-degree child sexual assault and 3 counts of stalking.
Lynch was charged last month, after a woman who’s now 28 told authorities that he sexually assaulted her 21 years ago in the bathroom of her family’s home.
The woman also said Lynch later stalked her while she worked at 2 banks. He’s also accused of stalking a female police employee and a man who was dating his ex-wife several years ago.
Lynch ran the Fox Lake police force for about 2 decades before resigning in early 2009. He’s free on a $25,000 bond, but authorities are electronically monitoring his whereabouts.
