PORTAGE (WKZO) -- Given the current conflicts between the Portage Board of Education and Superintendent Marsha Wells, you might think that finding candidates willing to throw themselves into the fray might be difficult, but 12-year veteran Trustee Tom Eddy who decided to retire from the board three years ago, has already announced he is back, and ready to run in May.
He says since he has been through two Superintendents selection processes, he can help if there is another. Current Board President Kevin Hollenbeck says he will run again too. The other incumbent Melanie Kurdys has not decided. The Board plans an information meeting for prospective candidates this afternoon at 5:30.
The Kalamazoo School board plans a similar session on Wednesday.
