DE PERE, Wis. (WTAQ) - One person is dead after being shot by police outside a De Pere apartment complex.
Cops were called to the 2200 block of Samantha Street a little after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They were told a male was suicidal and may have a gun. De Pere Police Chief Derek Beiderwieden says officers spotted a car coming out of a nearby garage, with the man they were looking for inside.
Police shot at 44-year-old Daniel LeCleir to stop the threat.
Six officers were at the scene, 4 discharged their weapons. LeCleir died at the scene.
The Brown County Sheriff's Department is assisting in the investigation.
