UNDATED (WSAU) About 150 Wisconsin National Guard troops are about to start training for a peace-keeping mission in Kosovo. Governor Scott Walker will attend a farewell ceremony Friday for members of the 32nd Military Police Company and the 157th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. They’ll spend two months training at Camp Atterbury in Indiana.
They’re expected to arrive in Kosovo around Thanksgiving, as part of NATO’s peace-keeping effort. They’ll join about 700 U-S soldiers there, plus troops from six other nations. The Wisconsin Guard’s 238th Aviation Regiment is also part of the mission. But 30 members of that unit will have their own send-off later.
