KALAMAZOO, MI (1660 THE FAN) - Northern Michigan has been a pesky opponent for Western Michigan on numerous occasions...Friday night's game was no exception, as the Wildcats scored two goals to take the lead in the 2nd period. The Broncos answered the call, scoring two goals of their own in that 2nd stanza, and then senior foward Dane Walters put WMU ahead for good on a power play goal in the 3rd period. In fact, three Broncos goals were scored either on the power play or shorthanded, and Chase Balisy added an empty netter for his second goal of the game, making the final score 4-2. The win moves Western to 7-3-1 overall, 4-2-1 in the CCHA. Game two of the weekend series is Saturday night at Lawson Arena, with broadcast time on 96.5 WKZO set for 6:30 pm.
