Once again Roy Schmidt has been found not guilty, but not innocent either.
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson says Roy Schmidt won’t face campaign finance charges for taking money out of his campaign fund to pay someone to run as a fake democrat, but if he had delivered that cash, Johnson says they would have pursued enforcement.
Johnson says the dismissal of the complaint shouldn’t be misconstrued of condoning Schmidt’s actions. They say they just don’t have the evidence to proceed. Schmidt is serving his last days in the house. Voters turned him out of office in November.
Schmidt and Jase Bolger remain the targets of a Grand Jury probe on the entire “Bolgergate” election rigging effort.
