KALAMAZOO, , MI (WKZO) -- What will the economic impact of Right to work be on Michigan? Upjohn Institute Labor Economist George Erickcek says according to the studies that he trusts, not much, especially here in West Michigan where there are few union shops.
He says in the public sector, since police and fire fighters are exempted, it seems to be primarily aimed at the teachers union. He says it takes 3 to 5 years to show any results, and that’s why he doubts claims that Indiana’s recent successes are due to right to work.
