BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Four Battle Creek area school districts have announced that they will be closed Friday.  Social media chatter about possible threats to student safety persuaded them to be better safe than sorry, and anticipating a snowstorm, the winter break is starting a day early.

Superintendents in Battle Creek, Harper Creek, Lakeview, and Pennfield called off activities Thursday evening and for all of Friday.  Local law enforcement agencies say, however, any threats appear to be unsubstantiated.
