OTTAWA COUNTY (WKZO) -- Deputies are investigating the bizarre death of a 29-year old from Grand Haven who may have driven his car into the Grand River by mistake. An autopsy is planned for today to determine the cause of death. Family members say 29-year-old Lawrence Sterns headed out Christmas Eve to set beaver traps along the Grand River and never returned.
They believe his car went into the water at the Burr Oak landing and was swept about 100 yards downstream.
He was reported missing when he didn’t appear for dinner Christmas Eve.
They found the car and his body inside Christmas night.
