The 35-game bowl season resumes tonight after the day off for Christmas and game eight on the schedule brings the action to Ford Field in Detroit and the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl between Central Michigan and Western Kentucky. C-M-U ended its season on a three-game winning streak for a 6-and-6 record to make its first bowl since 2009.
The Chippewas, who finished fourth in the Mid-American Conference West Division, will face a Western Kentucky team from the Sun Belt Conference making its first ever bowl appearance. The 7-and-5 Hilltoppers will have defensive coordinator Lance Guidry guiding them, after the school parted ways with Willie Taggart in favor of former Razorbacks head coach Bobby Petrino, who was fired from Arkansas last summer after a scandal involving an Arkansas staff member. Western Kentucky’s regular season included wins against Sun Belt champ Arkansas State and Kentucky of the SEC. Tonight’s kickoff is set for 7:30.
