KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- There appears to be a buyer for the Kalamazoo Gazette building in downtown Kalamazoo, although it doesn't sound like the new owner, developer Phoenix Properties, has figured out what to do with it yet.
It may depend on who moves into the unusual structure, which includes office space and large, empty rooms that currently hold press equipment.
Developers apparently envision a mix of retail, residential, office, medical and perhaps even some production uses for building, originally designed by Albert Kahn.
Built in 1924, it will be the first time the property has been used for anything other than daily newspaper publishing.
