DEARBORN (WKZO) -- Former Republican presidential candidate and two-time Utah Governor, Jon Huntsman, is elected to the Ford Motor Company board of directors.

The 51-year-old Huntsman, is currently the chairman of the Utah-based Huntsman Cancer Foundation and has served as U.S. Ambassador to China.  Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford says, "Jon brings to Ford's board of directors extensive global knowledge and experience, particularly in Asia with trade issues, and operational experience gained as governor of Utah, a state that has grown jobs even during the economic crisis."

Huntsman was White House staff assistant to President Ronald Reagan and has also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Asia, U.S. Ambassador to Singapore and Deputy U.S. Trade Representative.
