COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - Grief Counselors will be on hand at Legg Middle School in Coldwater today and all this week, following the unexpected death of 8th grader Kasey Pitts on Friday. 

School staff met over the weekend to plan for a grief counseling team and how they would deal with the situation. A letter will be read this morning as the day begins to inform those students who may not have been aware of his death. The letter will also be sent to all parents of Legg students.

The 13-year old was found unresponsive at his home in Coldwater where City Police were called to shortly after 9 p.m. Friday. An autopsy is planned for today at a Toledo hospital. Services for Kasey Pitts are pending at the Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
