FABIUS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO) St. Joseph County fire investigators and Police are dealing with a double mystery. How did a fire begin in one of the barns the county uses for storage, and who is the person who died in that fire.
Flames were reported in the barn off Roberts Road in Fabius Township early Monday. They found the body in the rubble after the wood framed barn was totally destroyed by the flames. One clue to his I.D. a white and blue mountain bicycle outside that they suspect belonged to the dead person.
They don’t know if the victim was cooking meth, just trying to stay warm or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. They hope autopsy results will give them some clues. Apparently there was no I.D. on the body, but they have a few leads.
