The Red Wings have waived goaltender Ty Conklin. If Conklin clears waivers by this afternoon, he will be sent back to Grand Rapids of the AHL. Conklin has been backing up Joey MacDonald while starter Jimmy Howard was out with a broken finger. Howard returns for Detroit’s game tonight at Chicago.
MacDonald had a 6-1-and-1 record after taking over the starting job. The Red Wings shoot for their seventh straight win tonight and then Thursday will try for their 24th straight victory at home when they host Vancouver.
ilwaukee Brewer take time to sign dozens of autographs following a session of batting practice. Detroit will begin exhibition play on March 2nd against Florida Southern College. Opening Day is on April 5th against the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park.
