PAW PAW, MI (WKZO) -- Wade Lewis, the suspect involved in a bizarre home invasion, car theft, and cross country chase on Sunday, continued to exhibit strange behavior during his first court appearance. He engaged in an angry, profanity laced tirade allegedly threatening the Van Buren County Judge presiding over his video arraignment.
Lewis repeatedly confessed to the crimes and demanded he be taken to prison despite warnings from the judge that he should remain silent for his own sake. He is only being charged with Fleeing and eluding in Van Buren County. He faces far more serious charges, including Kidnap and first degree home invasion in Kalamazoo. There are also open questions about his sanity, and that will likely become an issue at his preliminary hearing.
