MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) - It happened near Marshall. Calhoun County Deputies say dozens of animals crammed into containers have been rescued and charges may be filed. A warrant is being sought against a 42-year-old woman for animal neglect and child endangerment, after police investigating a tip found 33 dogs, covered in their own filth, living in carriers and kennels in a home.

They arrived with a search warrant late yesterday morning at the residence in the 19-thousand block of 20-1/2 Mile Road, and seized the animals, and took them to a shelter. They also found a 13-year old girl living at the home.  Child protective services will investigate.
