Joe Walsh has revealed a bit of news about his upcoming solo effort, Analog Man .  The album is due in stores sometime in May.  The Eagles guitarist will perform selections from the collection, as well as various tunes from his back catalog, at a private party scheduled for February 1 at Los Angeles famed Troubador club.

In a recent interview with the San Diego Reader , Walsh explained that effects of the digital age were very much on his mind as he wrote songs for the album.

"Back when it was all analog, we used to go in the studio, and studios had knobs.  We used to turn knobs and say, let's see what this does," he noted.  "Now, we have a mouse.  We spend hours yelling at our computers.  My son comes in and he says, 'Dad, you're really stupid.'"

He also maintains that people get preoccupied with computers and other gadgets to distract themselves from reality, which, he notes, "has a lot of crummy stuff in it."

In addition, the veteran rocker laments the state of our economy and government bureaucracy.

"First of all, there is no more money.  We have spent it all," he tells the newspaper.  "Why is everybody waiting for things to get better?  They're not gonna get better, and that's screamin' at me.  Thirty thousand vets are comin' home and nobody gives a f***."

Besides his February 1 performance, the only other show currently on Walsh's itinerary is a gig the following night at the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego.
