KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A Kalamazoo woman who sought refuge with the older couple next door in Swansboro, North Carolina when her marriage dissolved last October has allegedly been killed by one of the very people she sought help from.
Police are not saying why they think 66-year-old John Giltz shot 50-year-old Susan Zemlick Monday morning but he is expected to be formally charged with her killing today. Family members say there was emotional instability in the home, and that they were concerned about her staying there. Apparently they were right.
