Sugarland's Kristian Bush Kicks Off Annual Run of Shows at Eddie's Attic in Atlanta Sunday

Sugarland 's Kristian Bush returns to Eddie's Attic near Atlanta for his annual after Thanksgiving shows with two sold-out performances Sunday and another one Monday night. Kristian describes Eddie's Attic as Atlanta's answer to the Bluebird Café, and he's been performing there long before Sugarland hit the country music scene in 2004.

Kristian was a part of a folk-pop duo called Billy Pilgrim in the early '90s, and Eddie's Attic was a real launching pad for him in those early days.  Other acts including R.E.M. , The B-52's and the Indigo Girls also came out of that artistic community, so that's why you see Sugarland covering an R.E.M. song or inviting The B-52's to the CMT Music Awards from time to time.  Going back to Eddie's Attic is another way Kristian stays in touch with his musical roots.

"We play the songs of my whole career, not just the most recent part," Kristian tells ABC News Radio.

Kristian's Eddie's Attic shows have expanded since Sugarland took off, but there are still fans who have been coming since about 1993.  This year, Kristian will welcome country newcomer Canaan Smith as his guest on all shows along with his singer/songwriter pals Ellis Paul and Patrick Davis .  The resulting show is a real switch from what he does on stage with Sugarland.

Says Kristian, "You just get to be you and a guitar and the barstools.  Really, without all the pageantry and everything, that's what we do.  So, it's a lot of fun for me.  I love it."
