, MI (WKZO) -- A Kalamazoo County Deputy who was arrested for drunk driving in Portage will keep her job but has been sanctioned. Portage Police found off-duty Deputy April Barfoot parked in a bank parking lot early in the morning of November 15th. She said she felt ill, the officer said she clearly looked drunk and she was tested and booked.
She has served 4-days suspension and could face up to 3 more depending what happens at trial. She is charged with misdemeanor drunk driving.
She has been reassigned from road patrol to the jail. She is also to undergo substance abuse counseling.
