KALAMAZOO (WKZO)  -- Barring any schedule changes or new motions, Jury selection is set to get underway for the drunken driving trial of Parchment School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director John Thompson. 

He is also charged with fleeing and eluding police.  He has been on unpaid leave from his job since the felony charge was filed.

  The handling of his employment and the fact that he was allowed to come back to work after he was stopped but before he was formally charged has angered some parents.  School officials say they were simply following the law and their own policies.
