In “Monday Night Football", the Houston Texans improved to 5-and-0 with a 23-to-17 road win over the New York Jets, who slip to 2-and-3.
It’s back to practice today for the Lions following their bye week. Detroit will try to snap their 3-game losing streak and earn their second win of the season when they play the Eagles Sunday at Philadelphia.
And there are reports that former Lion’s great Alex Karras is suffering from kidney failure and has been given only a few days to live. The 77-year-old Karras has suffered from dementia and cancer over the past few years. He is also a part of the mass concussion lawsuit over three-thousand former NFL players have filed against the league. Karras was a defensive tackle for Detroit from 1958 through 1970 and followed his playing days with a career in acting and broadcasting.
