Brad Paisley 's career as a country star has taken him around the world, and he talks about that experience in his brand-new single, "Southern Comfort Zone." The West Virginia native has come to appreciate his home in the South as a result of all that traveling.
Brad tells The Tennessean , "I'm encouraging people to take a look around. There's some great places around the world that will expand your mind and also make you love this Southern comfort zone."
Brad thinks the song will mean different things to different people, but there's no doubt "Southern Comfort Zone" introduces a different sound for Brad. It's the lead single from his next, as-yet-untitled album, due out April 9. Brad and his band recorded a lot of the new material in a house on his property outside Nashville. Stepping out of the comforts of a recording studio this time around has Brad feeling a bit vulnerable.
"It's the kind of album that is meant to expand my art," Brad explains," and I don't think it's the least bit un-commercial of a record. I just think it's different."
