LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development says to check the fridge for cheese made by Turner Cheese Company of Whittemore, recently.
The milk used to make the Co-Jack, Cheddar, Jalepeno Cheddar, and Garlic Herb cheese and cheese curds has been deemed unfit for human consumption. The milk had been held at 63-degrees for an extended period of time, which can allow bacteria grow and prevent pasteurization.
All of the cheeses were sold at the retail counter of Turner Cheese Company, but state officials don't know if it was sold to wholesalers, distributors or retailers as yet.
